Cryptocurrency Payments at Richroyal
Crypto occupies an odd position in German gambling. The Glücksspielstaatsvertrag of 2021 regulates operators and stakes, not coins, so nothing in the statute mentions USDT or Litecoin at all. What the statute does is decide which platforms may serve German players in the first place, and that is where a crypto cashier becomes relevant: the platforms that accept it are, almost without exception, the ones licensed outside the whitelist published by the Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder. Richroyal is one of them. This page explains how its crypto routes work and what they do and do not change.
Which coins the cashier actually monitors
Three assets are listed: USDT on the TRC-20 and ERC-20 networks, Litecoin, and Bitcoin. The distinction between a stablecoin and the other two matters more than most players expect. USDT is pegged to the US dollar, so the euro value of a deposit barely drifts between sending and playing. Litecoin and Bitcoin float, which means a balance can gain or lose real purchasing power purely from market movement while it sits in the account. Neither behaviour is a fault; they are simply different instruments, and choosing between them is a decision about whether a reader wants price exposure on top of gambling exposure.
The network label is the part that causes irreversible mistakes. A deposit address generated for TRC-20 is not the same object as an address for ERC-20, even where the string looks superficially similar, and a token sent on a chain the cashier does not watch simply is not seen. The rule is mechanical: copy the address from the cashier at the moment of sending, select the identical network in the sending wallet, and send a small test amount the first time.
Timings, floors and the weekly ceiling
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum deposit | about 25 € in coin equivalent |
| Minimum payout | 15 € |
| Deposit credited | after the required network confirmations |
| Payout review | up to 24 hours, up to 48 hours the first time |
| Payout after release | USDT and Litecoin up to 6 hours |
| Weekly payout ceiling | up to 4.000 € |
| Operator fee | none stated; the network fee is charged by the chain |
The roughly 25 € floor exists because a network fee is levied per transaction, not proportionally. On a 10 € transfer that fee is a meaningful percentage; on 25 € it is noise. The floor is expressed in euro but paid in coin, so the exact quantity to send changes with the rate.
What crypto does not remove
A recurring assumption is that paying in coin makes an account anonymous. It does not. The identity obligation sits on the operator under European anti-money-laundering law, so the same document set is required before a payout is released: an identity document, a current proof of address, and confirmation that the wallet used belongs to the account holder. What genuinely changes is visibility: a crypto transfer does not appear as a gambling line on a German bank statement, which is a privacy difference rather than a legal one. Anyone using that property to hide spending from themselves has identified a problem rather than solved one, and the neutral place to check is the BZgA campaign Spielen mit Verantwortung together with its Check dein Spiel self-test.
The protections that a crypto cashier signals are absent
Because the accepting platforms sit outside the German permit system, the whole statutory apparatus is missing, and it is worth naming it item by item. A whitelisted anbieter caps the stake of a virtual slot spin at 1 €, enforces a five-second gap between spins, disables autoplay, offers no jackpots, provides a panic button that suspends the account for 24 hours, feeds the LUGAS file that holds a shared 1.000 € monthly deposit ceiling across all German operators, blocks parallel sessions, and queries OASIS, the nationwide exclusion register kept by the Regierungspräsidium Darmstadt, where a self-exclusion runs for at least three months. It also remits 5,3 percent of every stake as tax. None of that reaches a coin sent to an offshore-licensed cashier. The voluntary substitutes are described on the self-exclusion page and the responsible gambling page.
A sensible first transfer
Send the smallest amount the cashier allows, wait for it to appear, and only then move a real sum. Keep the transaction hash, because on a blockchain that string is the complete and public record of what happened, and it is the only thing support needs to locate a transfer. Withdraw to the same wallet that funded the account, since a different destination triggers a manual review. And remember that the return leg is quoted in euro and converted at the rate of that moment, not at the rate of the deposit, which is precisely why a stablecoin is the calmer choice for anyone who wants the payout to equal the number they saw on the balance.
